How do I book a lesson? Call or email me, come see me at Barbados Golf Club, buy a voucher. All lessons start on the hour.
Where do we meet? I teach at Barbados Golf Club. Ask for me or wait for me at reception, or feel free to message me when you arrive.
How early should I arrive? I recommend you arrive at least 5 minutes ahead of your scheduled appointment. If you are an experienced golfer then warming up on the range is a good idea.

I’m a beginner or novice golfer. Can you help me so I can start to play golf? Absolutely! You need to learn how to roll the ball the correct distance on the greens, how to make partial swings and loft the ball into the air so it stays on the green, and how to make full swings that get the ball airborne. If you learn to do these correctly, your path to having fun on a golf course will happen quickly.
What is your teaching philosophy? The way I see golf is simple. It is a game, and like any game, it is to be enjoyed. This is my priority. I then try to match the instruction to the student's goals, learning style and pace. Please see the golf survey sheet for more details.
By understanding the learning style of the student, you therefore find the best ways to explain, demonstrate, guide and allow the student to feel the proper motion. Though it is hard to do sometimes, I try to give my students no more than two swing thoughts to focus on in any one lesson, depending on the pace of the student.
Finally, I give the students a drill to practice throughout the week. For the intermediate and more advanced players, the lesson is based on what the ball is doing in the air, known as the PGA Ball Flight Laws.
Do you offer on-course lessons for your students? Definitely. This is probably the very best way to work with a student. For intermediate and more advanced level golfers, there is no better way to understand what is going on in their game than from an on-course golf lesson. Together we can identify your weakest areas or where you lose the most strokes, and then concentrate on what is needed most.
I have heard that golf lessons will mess up my golf game. Is that true? Practice is the key here. I teach people how to practice. If you practice correctly, often, and short in duration what I am teaching you, then your game will be better than ever. Practice makes permanent - the more you practice the more permanent the swing will become. What are Player Engagement Clinics? Player Engagement Clinics (in association with Barbados Golf Club) provides a framework for PGA Teaching Professionals to create a welcoming golf environment at every level of a player’s journey.
It brings new players to golf and new members to the club and is a way to encourage growth in a particular demographic which may be lacking in the golf community, like juniors, women or young professionals.
Examples of Player Engagement Clinics are Introduction to Golf for Women, Junior Certification, Kids birthday parties and Business team building events.
