I am a PGA Associate golf coach and I work with golfers of all abilities to improve their game.

As an accredited Associate Certified Coach and a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF), I have trained with Performance Consultants International and The Coaching Academy in London specifically for coaching within the education system.

I am excited about being back here in Barbados as my parents we born here in Stand Philip. I always wanted to return and leave a legacy of my own as they had by moving to England.

I had visited Barbados every year since 2001 and each time I left with the yearning to return quickly. When the opportunity arose I jumped at the chance. As a teacher in England, I made up my mind to make the move permanent, when I was stood on duty in a very cold playground listening to Prime Minister Mia Mottley talking about our youth being the future. It was time.

This is my story...

As one of 13 children living in the United Kingdom, I recognized from a young age, the importance of having structure, guidance, and a strong support system. My journey to becoming a Performance Coach was not a straight path. I left school at 16 to undertake an apprenticeship in Food Preparation and Cooking, with a dream of one day becoming a top chef.

From there I joined the British Army, which taught me many valuable life skills such as discipline, teamwork, camaraderie, determination, and perseverance. These values have served me well throughout my life and career. Being in the Army allowed me to travel the world and on a personal note, make my father proud of the man I had become.

After leaving the British Army I became a vocational trainer, working with catering students who were excluded from the educational system. This allowed me to use my experience from my catering qualification and focused my attention on helping others – training, coaching, and guiding young adults.

It was extremely fulfilling to be able to help the students through their vocational training qualifications and see how each person was learning and growing. This experience gave me clarity that I wanted to help more young adults and children.

To become a more skilled instructor, I completed a degree in Hotel & Catering Management and Licensed Retail Management at Wolverhampton University, which led me to become a Restaurant Manager and work with several college apprentices.

I then had the fantastic opportunity to start a programme as a secondary school teacher. This role enabled me to flourish, as not only was I sharing my passion for cooking, but it helped open the eyes and minds of the students through teaching.

I later moved into a more senior teaching role where I also took on pastoral care of the students. This was an exciting and extremely rewarding challenge as I applied numerous behavioral strategies to better understand and guide the students to reach their full potential.

So, having educated hundreds of students in the UK, I’ve brought this passion to Barbados where my main focus is the further development of Barbados’ most precious resource, its people!

I wish my parents were here to see me now, I know they would be very proud.
