As a certified student of the American Development Model (ADM) my juniors are taught using the American version of the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model prescribing what children, youth, and adults need to be doing at the right time to develop in sport or activity.
For the juniors the lessons are not just about golf, they are about improving their all-round athleticism, so they have access to other sports now and in the future. It is my responsibility to encourage all potential golfers under the age of 14, to play multiple sports.
Both kids and adults will get active, stay active, and reach the greatest peaks of sport performance when following this model. Long term commitment to physical literacy and sport skill development is vital to optimize athletic potential. To find out more about the LTAD model for your child or your school, please contact me.
Junior golf certification All juniors who come to me for lessons have a pathway through the Junior Golf Certification Program. Like school, and many other sports, the teaching and certification is completed incrementally, with each level having its own set of golf skills and understanding to achieve. This way the juniors have an aspiration that is not too far away.
The Junior Golf Certification Program is split into two sections:
Practical elements using the golf swing and one’s abilities within it
Theoretical elements including their knowledge of the game of golf. (A booklet will be provided)
At EDGE Coaching, we hope this certification will bring all juniors, whichever coach they chose, to participate in golf, with an aspiration of ascending through the levels to become a club golfer, gaining a sports scholarship, and maybe one day, representing their nation.
