Don't be afraid to get support.

We are coming to the holiday season, but I wanted to save the holiday tip for next week. However, this is a period of the year that can be difficult for some.
I mention this because this week, I was working with a client regarding parenting. Their two children are young and, like most children, are susceptible to the season. Life with children and for children is always a roller coaster ride. Understanding that there will be negative aspects to child-rearing and getting some professional advice when necessary will help you maintain your sanity and enjoy the experience.
This can also be the same at work; I love this little quote.
"Your support network is the solid ground from which you can propel yourself upwards"
Even though it was a tip aimed at a parent, I felt it could easily transition to other areas of our lives.
Like in the home; a workplace is also a place where support is something we should all court if we wish to be happy and prosperous, so my tip for this week is
"Don't be afraid to get support if you need it."
This week see if you can practice these things
  1. If you don't understand how to do something or how something works, get clarification. You may feel foolish asking what you consider a silly question, but that is much better than making an avoidable mistake.
  2. If someone asks you a question and you genuinely don't know the answer, say you aren't sure, but you will find out. In the style of a great coach, and if you are in the position to, ask them how they could find out for themselves. However, if you say you will find out, do it.
So, whether you are a parent, a student, an employee, or a leader, "Asking for help isn't a sign of weakness, it's a sign of strength," I have always told my clients, "No one got to where they are today without help along the way."
We are getting to the time of the year where things can get hard, don't be afraid to ask for support if you need it.
Have a great week and follow your dreams
